Climate Resilience and Ecological Governance
• Rationale: Marginalised communities, despite contributing least to the climate crisis, are extremely affected by environmental degradation, climate-induced disasters, and unsustainable resource extraction.
• Goal: To build climate-resilient communities that regulate their natural resources and develop equitable environmental approaches.
• Core Strategies: Promoting community-led climate-resilient agriculture and ecological restoration; supporting dialogue for pro-poor climate methodologies; documenting and integrating indigenous knowledge on sustainable natural resource management; strengthening local capacities for climate adaptation.
• Expected Outcomes: Improved adoption of climate-resilient practices; stronger community governance towards natural resources; increased influence in local and national climate resilience related dialogues; enhanced ecological health of local habitats.
