Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last Updated: 01 September 2026

Parmeshwaram Research Development and Foundation ("PRDF", "we", "our", or "us") sincerely appreciates the support and contributions received from donors, supporters and well-wishers towards our programmes, projects and social-development initiatives.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the terms applicable to donations and payments made through the PRDF website and the limited circumstances in which a refund or cancellation request may be considered.

By making an online donation or payment through our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.

1. General Donation Policy

Donations made to PRDF are voluntary contributions intended to support our programmes, projects, activities and organisational objectives.

Once a donation has been successfully processed and accepted by PRDF, it is generally considered final and non-refundable.

Important: Donations are ordinarily non-cancellable and non-refundable after successful processing, except in limited circumstances specifically described in this policy or where refund is required under applicable law.

2. Circumstances Where a Refund May Be Considered

PRDF may consider a refund request on a case-by-case basis in certain exceptional circumstances.

2.1 Duplicate Transaction

A refund may be considered where the same donation has accidentally been processed more than once.

Duplicate payments may occur because of:

  • Repeated clicking of the payment button
  • Network interruption
  • Payment gateway error
  • Browser or technical issues
  • Unintentional repeated submission

If PRDF verifies that the same intended donation has genuinely been received more than once, the duplicate transaction may be considered for refund.

2.2 Incorrect Donation Amount

A donor may accidentally enter an incorrect donation amount while making a payment.

If such an error is reported promptly and PRDF is able to verify the circumstances, the refund request may be reviewed.

Approval will depend upon the transaction records, timing of the request, applicable payment gateway rules and whether the funds have already been allocated or utilised.

2.3 Technical Error

A refund may be considered where a verified technical problem associated with the website, payment gateway, bank or payment processing system results in an unintended charge.

2.4 Unauthorized Transaction

If a donor believes that a payment method has been used without proper authorization, the donor should notify PRDF and the relevant bank or payment service provider immediately.

Such transactions may be subject to investigation by:

  • The issuing bank
  • The payment gateway
  • The card network
  • The UPI service provider
  • Other relevant financial institutions

PRDF may cooperate with such providers and may process a refund where appropriate and legally permissible.

2.5 Legal or Compliance Reasons

PRDF may decline, reverse or refund a transaction if accepting or retaining the contribution may result in:

  • Violation of applicable law
  • Regulatory non-compliance
  • Banking restrictions
  • Payment gateway restrictions
  • Fraud or suspicious transaction concerns
  • Internal compliance concerns

3. Change of Mind

A refund will generally not be provided merely because a donor changes their mind after making a voluntary donation.

Donations may be allocated towards PRDF programmes, projects or operational needs shortly after successful receipt.

Therefore, donors are encouraged to carefully verify the donation amount and details before completing the transaction.

4. Cancellation of Donations

Once an online donation has been successfully processed, it normally cannot be cancelled in the same manner as an unprocessed order or booking.

If you believe that a donation was made incorrectly, you should contact PRDF at the earliest possible opportunity.

The transaction will then be reviewed under this Refund & Cancellation Policy.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request consideration of a refund, the donor should contact PRDF using the contact details provided below.

The refund request should preferably include the following information:

  • Donor's Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Mobile Number
  • Donation Amount
  • Date of Transaction
  • Transaction ID
  • Payment ID
  • UTR Number, where available
  • Payment Method
  • Reason for Requesting Refund
  • Relevant transaction screenshot or supporting document, where required

Providing complete and accurate transaction information will help PRDF verify the request more efficiently.

6. Verification of Refund Request

PRDF may request additional information or documents before approving a refund.

This may be necessary to:

  • Verify the identity of the donor
  • Verify the payment transaction
  • Confirm a duplicate payment
  • Confirm an incorrect amount
  • Investigate unauthorized transactions
  • Prevent fraudulent refund claims

PRDF reserves the right to decline a refund request where sufficient verification cannot be completed.

7. Time Limit for Refund Requests

Donors are encouraged to submit refund requests for duplicate, erroneous or disputed transactions within 7 days from the date of transaction.

Requests received after this period may still be reviewed depending upon the circumstances, applicable law and payment provider rules.

However, PRDF may be unable to approve a late refund where funds have already been committed, utilised or where transaction verification is no longer reasonably possible.

8. Refund Review Process

Submission of a refund request does not automatically guarantee approval.

Each request may be reviewed based upon:

  • Payment gateway records
  • PRDF's transaction records
  • Banking information
  • Nature of the refund request
  • Transaction date
  • Whether the transaction was duplicated
  • Whether an incorrect amount was genuinely entered
  • Whether the donation has already been allocated or utilised
  • Applicable legal requirements
  • Payment gateway rules

9. Refund Processing Time

If a refund request is approved after verification, PRDF will ordinarily attempt to initiate the refund within 7 to 10 business days.

This period refers to the time required by PRDF to initiate an approved refund.

After initiation, the final amount may take additional time to appear in the donor's account depending upon:

  • Payment Gateway
  • Issuing Bank
  • Acquiring Bank
  • Card Network
  • UPI Provider
  • Wallet Provider
  • Other Financial Intermediaries

PRDF cannot guarantee the exact time taken by banks or third-party payment providers after a refund has been initiated.

10. Method of Refund

Where technically and legally possible, an approved refund will generally be returned to the same payment method used for the original transaction.

For example, if the donation was made using a credit card, debit card or UPI method, the refund will generally be processed back through the same original payment channel.

For security and compliance reasons, PRDF may decline requests to transfer a refund to an unrelated bank account, UPI ID, wallet or payment method.

11. Failed Transactions

A transaction may fail because of:

  • Network interruption
  • Bank server issues
  • Payment gateway error
  • Incorrect payment information
  • Insufficient account balance
  • Authentication failure
  • Bank security restrictions
  • Technical issues

If the transaction fails and PRDF does not receive the donation amount, PRDF cannot issue a refund for funds that were not received.

In many failed-payment cases, the bank or payment gateway automatically reverses the amount back to the customer's original account.

If the debited amount is not automatically reversed within the applicable banking timeline, the donor should contact their bank or payment provider.

The donor may also contact PRDF with the relevant transaction reference so that the payment status can be checked.

12. Pending Transactions

Sometimes a payment may appear as pending while confirmation is awaited from the payment gateway or banking system.

A pending transaction should not immediately be considered either successful or failed.

PRDF may wait for final confirmation from the relevant payment provider before issuing a receipt or considering any refund request.

13. Duplicate Donation Refunds

Where PRDF confirms that the same intended donation has genuinely been processed more than once, the duplicate amount may be eligible for refund.

The original intended donation will ordinarily remain valid and only the verified duplicate amount may be returned.

14. Incorrect Amount Refunds

If a donor enters an incorrect amount, PRDF may evaluate the request depending upon the circumstances.

A request for refund or adjustment should be submitted as soon as possible after the transaction.

PRDF may ask the donor to provide supporting evidence confirming the intended donation amount.

15. Payment Gateway or Banking Charges

Certain payment gateway, bank, card, wallet or processing charges may be imposed by third-party service providers.

Such charges may not always be refundable to PRDF.

Where permitted under applicable law and payment provider rules, any non-refundable third-party processing charges may affect the final refundable amount.

Where applicable, such adjustments should be communicated as part of the refund process.

16. Donation Receipts After Refund

If PRDF has already issued a donation acknowledgement, receipt or tax-related certificate for a transaction that is subsequently refunded, the relevant receipt or certificate may be:

  • Cancelled
  • Reversed
  • Marked as invalid
  • Replaced with an updated document

A donor should not claim any tax benefit in relation to a donation amount that has subsequently been refunded.

17. Tax Benefits and Refunds

Where any donation qualifies for a tax benefit under an applicable registration or law, such benefit will remain subject to the relevant legal requirements.

If a donation is refunded, the donor will no longer be entitled to claim a benefit in respect of the refunded amount.

18. Fraudulent or Suspicious Transactions

PRDF reserves the right to investigate transactions that appear:

  • Fraudulent
  • Suspicious
  • Unauthorized
  • Incorrectly processed
  • Illegal
  • Inconsistent with applicable regulations

PRDF may decline, hold, cancel or refund such transactions as appropriate.

PRDF may also cooperate with payment gateways, banks, law-enforcement authorities or regulatory bodies where required by applicable law.

19. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If a donor raises a chargeback or formal payment dispute directly with a bank, card issuer or payment provider, the dispute may be handled according to the relevant financial institution's procedures.

PRDF may provide transaction records or supporting information to the relevant institution where required.

Where the matter relates to a duplicate or erroneous payment, donors are encouraged to contact PRDF first so that an attempt can be made to resolve the matter directly.

20. Foreign Contribution Transactions

Contributions originating outside India or from a foreign source may be subject to additional legal, banking and regulatory requirements.

If PRDF determines that a transaction cannot legally or operationally be accepted, it may decline or return the contribution through an appropriate payment mechanism.

21. Donations Already Utilised

PRDF may use donations towards programmes, projects, administrative requirements or other legitimate organisational purposes.

Where a donation has already been allocated or utilised before a refund request is received, this may be taken into consideration while reviewing the request, subject to applicable law.

22. No Automatic Right to Refund

Nothing in this policy should be interpreted as creating an automatic right to a refund in every situation.

Refund eligibility will depend upon the circumstances of each transaction, supporting evidence, applicable law, banking requirements and payment gateway rules.

23. Third-Party Payment Providers

PRDF may use third-party payment gateways, banks, card networks, UPI providers, wallets and other financial service providers.

Refund processing may therefore also be subject to the rules, technical limitations and processing timelines of those providers.

24. Privacy of Refund Information

Information submitted as part of a refund request will be handled in accordance with PRDF's Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.

PRDF may share transaction-related information with payment gateways, banks or professional advisers where reasonably necessary to process or verify the refund.

25. Changes to This Policy

PRDF may revise this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time due to changes in:

  • Payment gateway requirements
  • Banking procedures
  • Internal processes
  • Applicable laws and regulations
  • Website functionality
  • Organisational requirements

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.

26. Governing Law

This Refund & Cancellation Policy shall be governed by the laws applicable in India.

27. Jurisdiction

Subject to applicable law, disputes arising from or relating to donations, refunds, cancellations or payments made through the PRDF website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.
