Gender Justice and Women's Empowerment
• Rationale: Patriarchy and gender-based discrimination remain fundamental barriers to equality, limiting women's and LGBTQI+ persons' safety, participation, and leadership.
• Goal: To foster a gender-just society where women and LGBTQI+ persons live free from violence and discrimination, and exercise leadership in all spheres of life.
• Core Strategies: Forming and strengthening women’s collectives; integrating gender responsive budgeting and analysis in all programs; leadership development for women and girls; campaigns against gender-based violence (GBV); creating safe spaces; fostering institutional gender sensitivity.
• Expected Outcomes: Increased participation of women in community governance; enhanced safety and reduced social tolerance for GBV; strong, representative women-led institutions; gender-equitable norms and policies within communities and institutions.
